Papers Written During Her Time In Synodiporia
Everything is Goo: Ectoplasmic Thoughtmatter and its Isolation, Manipulation, and Proven and Potential Uses in both Manufacturing and Medicine
The one that started it all, written to spite an old man who mocked her expertise in liminal studies because she hadn’t written any peer reviewed papers on it. Details her entire study of ectoplasmic goo, from that first isolated sample she took from Matthew upon his return from the floor to the present. Has been periodically updated for new data and theories along the way. Cassandra is listed as a collaborator in many of the experiments.
This Is The Dead Land: An Account of the Expedition to Fortune’s Deadspace and What We Found There
A compilation and distillation of the notes and other materials created by the members of the expedition, rewritten for clarity and ease of reading. Also serves as a narrative of the expedition itself. Has the original material as its appendices.
People as Places as People: Thoughts Upon the Psychology and Biology of Living Ideas, as Exemplified by the Arcana
Her first attempt at an anthropological study of the Arcana themselves and how their nature as living ideas has shaped their worldviews. Also discusses their more physical manifestations as realms of liminal space and what can be learned from Tower’s corpus. Is supplemented by an interview with Death, the only non-Arcane living idea currently present, with additional thoughts comparing the Endless to the Arcana. Is further supplemented by interviews with Raidou’s demons, who exist because of human belief. Has transcripts of various conversations with Arcana, both her own and ones she’s viewed by memory sharing, in its appendices.
Everyone's a Little Bit Liminal Sometimes: Some Brief Thoughts on Living in a Thoughtrealm
A more personal paper, dealing with her own experiences dealing with the vagaries of liminal space and how it seems to have affected her psychology and physiology. Concentrates on how expectations shape form and how they affect form changes. Posits that mortal bodies in liminal space have the potential to be more mutable than they are usually seen to be.
We Think Therefore We Are Here: A Unifying Theory of Liminal Space, the Network, and the False Dichotomy of Mind vs Matter, with an Aside as to the Nature of Skills
Her magnum opus. Details her current working theories on the amphibious nature of Liminal Space as the physical manifestation of the Psychic Network and the general physics of it as a thoughtrealm. Posits that all skills are in essence the application of thoughts and will upon their environment. Because they are solidified thought themselves, the Arcana do not see the difference between any division of skill, but Travelers tend to group them into skills where those thoughts affect their physical environment and ones that affect the network. Further posits that the general order Travelers learn skills is to develop their mental flexibility in various ways, which is why some skills require knowing others that seem to otherwise be unrelated, and that Travelers who seemingly jumped steps in learning skills already possessed that mental flexibility.
The Traveler Singularity: What We Are, Where We Are Going, And How We Need To Get There
A follow-up to said magnum opus and her most recently completed paper. Explains the pre-established idea of a technological singularity, in which artificial intelligences created by humans become more intelligent than their creators and then start becoming smarter and smarter at an accelerated rate. Posits that the mortal Travelers are on the cusp of doing the same in regards to the Arcana, thanks to Fortune removing all limitations to how they might interact with their physical and psychic environment. Lists abilities that Travelers ought to develop in order to take control of their environment. (Those who listened to her introductory speeches to Liminal Salon/Traveler Group Meeting will recognize some of the concepts as ones she talked about then, only further expanded upon.)
